Snowshoeing in the French Pyrennes
A great route for beginners in the Cambra d’Aze region in Cerdanya France.
The tour, which starts in the town of Eyna, takes us up the ski slopes of Eyna 2600 and St. Pierre dels Forcats. We’ll snowshoe through beautiful forests where we’ll have magnificient views of all of the peaks of the French Pyrennes from Perics to Carlit.
The route will bring us to Plá de Cambra d’Aze where we’ll have views of a valley that is visited by experienced climbers trying to scale some of the corridors and channels that the ice forms in the wintertime . The route is suitable for beginners of any age. It’s undoubtedly the best way to spend a day in the mountains surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The route allows us to discover a region in the French Pyrennes that is not well-known and where we can find some peace and tranquility.

Material to bring: backpack, water, food (sandwich, nuts, energy bars etc), Goretex hiking boots, two pairs of wool socks, snow pants, long johns for a base layer, winter jacket, winter gloves, hat and scarf, sunscreen and sunglasses
